Xbox Live 2

The future of television is now.

Xbox LIVE recently unveiled the next generation of TV entertainment with its redesigned dashboard and new custom apps from world-leading TV and entertainment content providers. High Road helped kick-off the launch with a breakfast media event at Xbox 360 Central in Toronto.

Despite the wet weather, the space was buzzing with anticipation. Glenn Purkis, Xbox LIVE Product Manager, unveiled the new dash and left the crowd awe-struck after demonstrating the new voice-powered navigation features. That’s right: users can now navigate by simply speaking to their Xbox. With the power of Kinect, you say it, Xbox finds it.

Following the presentation, media chatted one-on-one with Purkis and representatives from content partners including Rogers On Demand, Disney XD, Real Sports, UFC, Crackle, YouTube, Vevo, Zune, and MSN.ca.

The highly-anticipated event drew more than 30 media from tech, gaming, sports and lifestyle outlets.

‘Year of the Tablet’ Continues with Fujitsu Slate Summit

BY Cam Gordon ON Oct 05, 2011 | No Comments

2011 will go into the record books as the year of the tablet.

IDC predicted that 1.5 million tablets would be sold in Canada during 2011 and yet for a majority of owners, they are simply using these devices for the basics: web surfing, watching movies and (of course) playing Angry Birds. Luckily, there are other Canadians using tablet PCs as productivity tools, personalizing the experience to their industry and enjoying new levels of full-featured mobility.

The Fujitsu Slate Summit highlighted two such examples and gave media and influencers in Toronto and Montreal a firsthand look at the ways in which tablet technology is being rolled out across Canadian industry. Steve Rush from St. Andrew’s College discussed his school’s enthusiasm for Fujitsu tablets, both at a student and a faculty level, dazzling attendees with seamlessly demos of Microsoft OneNote and customized course materials. Dr. Michel Hébert also appeared, talking about how the speed, portability and performance of Fujitsu tablets has been integral in the launch of Kinlogix, an innovative electronic patient record system.

Attendees such as CTV News, the Globe and Mail, Metro and L’Actualité took in the hour-long panel discussion and then enjoyed some 1-on-1 time with the new Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q550 slate PC (and some 1-on-1 time with the panel members themselves), diving deeper into this incredible device and learning the ways in which Fujitsu is becoming a brand of choice for advance tablet users across Canada.

After months of meetings, brainstorms, research, coding, writing, editing, shooting videos, designing and dreaming, High Road was excited to be a part of the official launch of BrighterLife.ca.

A content marketing site powered by Sun Life Financial (a High Road client for the last four years), BrighterLife.ca is designed to deliver relevant and valuable content to attract, acquire and engage an audience in a way that avoids jargon and a hard sales push. The content is all presented in plain language and focuses on topics people think about– family, health, money, working life and retirement.

BrighterLife.ca invites everyone to get involved – by reading, posing question to its columnists, contributing ideas and experiences, answering poll questions and sharing insights with those who face similar challenges.

High Road is proud to be a part of the BrighterLife.ca launch, and looks forward to working closely with Sun Life as the site continues to expand.
