Decked out in their royal best, little princes and princesses joined Barbie for Universal Studios Home Entertainment’s pink carpet premiere of Barbie Princess Charm School. Hosted by Yummy Mummy’s Erica Ehm, little Barbie lovers came to strut their stuff on the pink carpet and meet their favourite gal pal, Barbie.

There is no need to keep this gem a secret any longer.  Last month Universal Studios Home Entertainment and High Road Communications fused friend powers with Cineplex and Starlight Children’s Foundation to celebrate the DVD release of Barbie: A Fairy Secret with two exclusive screening events.

On a brisk March Break Saturday morning, families arrived with their fairy princess fans at Fairview Mall for a much anticipated advanced screening of the DVD.  The screening was hosted by Taylor Kaye and proceeds from kids snack pack were donated to Starlight Children’s Foundation.  Kids also had a chance to meet the lady of the hour herself, Barbie.

The second event was a breakfast with Barbie followed by a screening of Barbie: A Fairy Secret with families from the Starlight Children Foundation on the DVD’s release date.  Bright and early (and we mean early), sleepy but excited Barbie buffs arrived at Cineplex’s Varsity Cinemas decked out in their most fashion-forward fairy gowns.  After noshing on breakfast treats fit for Barbie royalty, the Starlight kids then decorated their own fairy wings with a little help Barbie before settling into their VIP seats to check out the flick.

There to capture every moment were our friends at CP24 Breakfast.  Live Eye Host Pooja Handa couldn’t help but catch the Barbie fever and by the end of the show was sporting her own set of fairy wings and fairy-pink feather boa. 

From start to finish the Barbie events were a success.  High Road is honoured to have been able to work alongside Universal on these events which brought so many smiles to the faces of the brave little kids of Starlight.

It was a pink carpet affair for wee tiara-topped fans of Barbie at the advance screening of her latest DVD, Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale.

Toronto’s Cineplex Odeon Queensway was the spot where little princesses strutted their stuff and posed for the “paparazzi” in anticipation of the modern day fairytale. Presented by Universal Studios Home Entertainment Canada, it was a day of fashion, friends and fun – “magic happens when you believe in yourself” was the motto of the day.

Barbie herself was in attendance (naturally!) – much to the delight of all, particularly the VIP winners who got to sit beside Barbie for the movie – and caused a bit of a tweeting frenzy,with more than 150 tweets from guests using the #YMCBarbie hashtag.

 Based on the blog coverage – including Toronto Teacher Mom, The Fashion Mommies, Our World From A to Z – and the many pics uploaded over on the Yummy Mummy Club’s Facebook page – the matinee screening was a sparkling good time for all!
