Fashion Television was there, Fashion File, MTV, every major publication and TV show was on hand to cover it. There were full banks of TV crews both along risers on the floor and along the balcony of the Windsor Arms’ main ballroom.

NOTHING'S MORE TEMPTING THAN CHOCOLATE

LG Electronics Canada

The Chocolate Phone from LG Electronics Canada was one of the most eagerly anticipated mobile phones of 2006 and its November launch party did not disappoint. A street team helped spread the word weeks in advance at some of Toronto's hottest nightclubs and an interactive online and mobile campaign ensured that Toronto VIPs would be tipped off about the evening in advanced. The efforts paid off and resulted in one of Toronto's hottest parties of the fall season.

Over 300 bodies crammed into Toronto's Windsor Arms hotel and laid witness to a live unveiling on the runways, as LG teamed up with SHAN lingerie and swimwear out of Montreal to introduce the phone as part of a live fashion show. Journalists, celebrities and Toronto socialites alike craned their necks for a glimpse at the bikini-clad models, strutting down the runway with the phones strategically incorporated in their outfits (or lack there off).

120 members of the Canadian media took in the event and the resulting coverage was nothing short of sensational. In the weeks following the launch, Entertainment Tonight Canada, Much Music, MTV Canada and dozens of print outlets had covered the Chocolate Phone, which immediately became a “must-have” accessory for fashion-conscious dialers across Canada.

Attendees were taken aback by the level of action at the Windsor Arms that evening, as Canada AM's Kris Abel discussed on his blog: “Fashion Television was there, Fashion File, MTV, every major publication and TV show was on hand to cover it. There were full banks of TV crews both along risers on the floor and along the balcony of the Windsor Arms' main ballroom. The ballroom itself and the main hallway was packed to the walls with people who had clearly devoted the entire day to getting dressed up and putting on make-up for the evening.”

Better still, the true measure of the event was coverage earned through outlets that would typically NEVER cover consumer technology, such as Toronto Fashion Monitor: “Chocolate Phone Series was officially unwrapped and strutted down the catwalk by models wearing Montreal couture label SHAN's 2007 swimwear and lingerie collection in a sexy runway show… The Chocolate Phone Series is as sensory pleasing and decadent as the rich delicacy it was named for.”
