High Road’s new look

We’ve updated our website and refreshed our brand.  We used our tenth anniversary to not only celebrate but also make changes to our corporate look and feel.

We loved our old logo with the road-that-leads-to-the-mountain. It’s been with us ever since High Road was founded back in the days when a website launch still created excitement and media started to think they might want to look into this thing they called “Cyberland” (“Extra! Readers talk back!”).

A lot has changed since then. High Road has grown from two to more than 70 people. We’re still doing technology and digital lifestyle PR but now we are doing it in six divisions and four offices.

We’ve been to the mountain and back many times. But we still love the hike, and we always strive to find new and better ways to get up there.  And that’s what we wanted to focus on with our “refreshed” brand.

We searched for people who could help us with that, and found the team of Evoke Solutions (branding and design) – or as I like to call them: Knights of the White Space - and The Working Group (website planning and development).

Together, we came up with a new logo, a new corporate identity, and a new website. We hope you like the result.

The site looks great and the addition of a blog is great.

The new logo is also a winner.

Congrats to everyone.  I’ve subscribed and will be an avid reader.

Congrats on the new look - very chic.  And the new blog! Looking forward to highroads contribution to the community!

A comment on your blog roll ... it’s labeled “blog links”.  From checking the list, these aren’t blogs, but sites.  And my guess is that they are client sites.  I would think that a little more explicit disclosure around that would be good for a PR firm, particularly with the call to authenticity that rings though all our halls these days.  I’ve seen a few other blogs distinguish between client links and blogroll links and have been very impressed by that transparency.

And it would be nice if you linked to fellow PR smart-kids.  There are a number of them blogging (Brendan Hodgson, Boyd Neil, David Jones, Ed Lee) and saying really interesting things in the community.  It would be great if highroad participated in that.

In any case, welcome to the fray and congrats on the new look + blog!

Hi Kate,

Thanks for your feedback! With the exception of BlogTV.ca, the Blog Links in the sidebar are actually all linking to blogs or blog landing pages. Given that the section is called Blog Links, putting BlogTV in there isn’t a big stretch. But point taken.

We list all of our current clients on our Clients page, so I don’t see a transparency issue there at all. But that’s good feedback and we will look at expanding the link section and maybe breaking it into different sections.

We are aware of the other PR smart kids. grin I link to a lot of them on my personal PR blog and have captured most of the Canadian ones (and other marketing/interactive/social media/media bloggers) in the Canuck PR Toolbar. We are just getting started with the High Road Blog, and we will add more and different links over time. Stay tuned.

Thanks again for your input!
